In the process of upgrading our infrastructure security, the SSL certificate used by our mail server will be replaced with a new one. This action will not affect the functionality of the mail service, as both incoming (POP3 / IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) mail will be delivered normally. The above change will only be seen in a warning format for mail clients (such as Outlook, Thunderbird, MacMail, etc.) that have their SSL / TLS enabled, and have declared as a server the "mail.domain" instead of the real name of their mail server (e.g. linux56.papaki.gr), which should be changed. As soon as it is corrected, the warning will stop appearing and communication with the mail server will come back immediately.

The upgrade will be held gradually from Monday 08/10 to Thursday 11/10.

Στο πλαίσιο αναβάθμισης της ασφάλειας των υποδομών μας, το SSL πιστοποιητικό που χρησιμοποιούν οι mail server μας θα αντικατασταθεί με νέο. Αυτή η ενέργεια δεν θα επηρεάσει στο παραμικρό την λειτουργία της mail υπηρεσίας, καθώς θα παραδίδεται κανονικά τόσο η εισερχόμενη (POP3/IMAP) όσο και η εξερχόμενη (SMTP) αλληλογραφία. Η παραπάνω αλλαγή θα γίνει αισθητή σε μορφή προειδοποίησης (warning) μόνο σε χρήστες mail clients (όπως Outlook, Thunderbird, MacMail, κ.λπ.), οι οποίοι στις ρυθμίσεις τους έχουν ενεργή τη χρήση SSL/TLS ενώ παράλληλα έχουν δηλώσει σαν όνομα εξυπηρετητή αλληλογραφίας (hostname) τον mail.domain αντί του πραγματικού ονόματος του mail server τους (π.χ. linux56.papaki.gr), το οποίο και θα πρέπει να αλλάξουν. Μόλις δηλωθεί το σωστό, το warning θα σταματήσει να εμφανίζεται και η επικοινωνία με τον mail server θα επανέλθει άμεσα.

Η αναβάθμιση θα γίνει τμηματικά από την Δευτέρα 08/10 έως και την Πέμπτη 11/10.
